Bulldog 805 is a variety that was developed and extensively researched at the Tifton Coastal Plain Research Farm. It is made up of parents that demonstrated a higher percent survival when intensively grazed and maintained a high hay yield. Bulldog 805 is a non-dormant variety that gives a longer growing season where the winter is mild and has a Fall Dormancy rating of 8. Bulldog 805 has a broad spectrum pest resistance. It has high resistance to Fusarium Wilt, Southern Root Knot Nematode, and is resistant to Phytophtora Root Rot. Bulldog 805 is a Nitrogen Fixation Plant , creating its own oxygen.
